STUDENT ADVOCACY & MENTAL WELLNESS SUMMIT
Empowering High School Leaders for Change
YouthWell will be hosting a Student Advocacy & Mental Wellness Summit for High school students from across Santa Barbara County. The Summit will take place February 25th at the EnviroHub 1219 State Street from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
The Student Advocacy & Mental Wellness Summit is a transformative workshop aimed at equipping students (9th-12th grade) with essential leadership and advocacy skills.
The summit will kick off with a check-in and lunch session from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, providing an opportunity for attendees to network and engage with their peers. Following the opening session, there will be skill building activities to enhance advocacy and leadership capabilities. Speaker panel will be from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, including Senator Limon, Assembly member Hart, Jordan Killebrew, Geoff Green, and Chief Esparza, followed by discussion groups and closing activities.
The focus of the summit will be on community engagement, eliminating stigma surrounding mental health, and prioritizing overall mental wellness.
This summit is a collaborative effort to foster the development of young leaders who are passionate about creating positive change in their communities. YouthWell believes that by empowering students with the necessary skills and knowledge, they can contribute to a more inclusive and mentally healthy society.

One of the biggest reasons people don’t seek help or support when they are struggling with a mental health challenge is because of the stigma and shame associated with it. YouthWell focuses on education, prevention, support, and early intervention, connecting youth through age 25 and their families to mental health and wellness resources before the crisis. YouthWell also provides an online Youth & Family Mental Health & Wellness Resource Directory for Santa Barbara County.
