World Music Series: Contemporary Jazz

UCSB Jazz Ensemble director Jon Nathan plays drums and leads an ensemble also anchored by UCSB Music Department alumnus Miller Wrenn, bass (recent graduate of the CalARts MFA in Composition/Performance program, currently bassist with multi woodwind master Vinny Golia and his own group, OFFCELL) and Santa Barbara saxophonist Evan LaFlamme, freelance musician in the Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and Paris, France regions. Guest musicians to include members of the UCSB Jazz Ensemble program. Jon Nathan and guests will perform on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 12 p.m. in the UCSB Music Bowl as part of the World Music Series. Admission is free. The World Music Series is co-presented by the UCSB MultiCultural Center and the Ethnomusicology Program in the Department of Music.
