Life Rolls On, a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering people living with disabilities through adaptive sports, is hosting its annual “They Will Surf Again” event on Saturday, October 4, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Rincon Beach Park in Carpinteria.
Hundreds of volunteers, participants of all ages with disabilities, and families will gather for a day of adaptive surfing, connection, and inspiration. The 2025 Life Rolls On event is proudly presented by the Foundation for Cottage Rehabilitation & Goleta Valley Cottage Hospitals, with generous support from community partners and donors.
Founded in 2001 by four-time world champion quadriplegic surfer Jesse Billauer, Life Rolls On provides adaptive surf and skate clinics nationwide. Guided by its motto, “Your power is in your perspective, not your circumstance,” the organization creates opportunities for people of all abilities to experience the joy of sport.
While registration is closed for participants, the public is invited to attend either as a volunteer or simply to show support. Volunteer roles are available both on land and in the water. All volunteers must arrive at 8 a.m. for a mandatory safety briefing and should bring their own personal gear such as wetsuits, fins (for deep water volunteers) and towels.
Registered athletes and volunteers will enjoy a complimentary lunch and water throughout the day, courtesy of event organizers and community partners.
