Paul Forster is a veteran teacher having put 40 years into the education system, many of them spent at Santa Barbara High School. He loves teaching and used art, literature, music, and creativity to make his classroom a safe and inspiring space where students could bloom and grow, and most of all, THINK. Forster is also a passionate artist who has been part of the Santa Barbara Solstice parade for 35 years. He is not a fan of the current trend of endless testing and data collection in education, believing that it misses the mark. He believes administrators should step into the classroom and teach a full class every three years to understand what teachers go through, making them better guides and supporters for teachers, which would improve the education system as a whole.
