Upcycle Art Days – Free Family Summer Art Workshops in Old Town Goleta

Thursdays – July 11 and August 8, 2019

Location: Goleta Valley Community Center – 5679 Hollister Avenue – Goleta, CA 93117

Goleta Valley Community Center (GVCC) has partnered with the Squire Foundation and the Santa Barbara County Arts Commission to conduct 3 free, half-day family art workshops that they are calling Upcycle Art Days. Major funding is being provided by Farmers and Merchants Trust Company. The project is part of GVCC’s larger vision to increase art and cultural opportunities within the Old Town community.

The workshops will be held outdoors at the Goleta Community Center on the 2nd Thursday of each month—June 13, July 11, and August 8—from 9:30 am until Noon. Bring an empty egg carton, cereal box or can and make it into art! Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Participants can stay after the workshop to enjoy the SBUSD Mobile Café’s free lunches that are available for ages 18 and under. For anyone over 18, lunches can be purchased for $4.00 each.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to help cover program expenses such as glue guns, glue sticks, tape, scissors, etc., can do so on GVCC’s website www.thegvcc.org.
