UCSB DHADKAN PRESENTS Nachle Deewane 2018 featuring PropheC

April 21, 2018 @ 5:30 am PDT

Nachle Deewane, an Indian dance competition hosted by UCSB Dhadkan, has become the largest, multicultural event held by a UCSB student organization and one of the largest ethnic celebrations in Santa Barbara over the last four years. The competition will feature ten collegiate dance teams — in two styles, Bollywood fusion and bhangra — from all over the country contesting for the top prize. In addition, the audience will be treated to a special performance by guest artist. The Teams: Bollywood-Fusion ★ UCSD Zor ★ ASU Andaaz ★ UCSC Kahaani ★ UCR Afsana ★ USC Zeher Bhangra ★ UCSD Da Real Punjabiz ★ Northwestern Bhangra ★ Cal Bhangra ★ Bruin Bhangra ★ Stanford Bhangra All proceeds from the event will go toward assisting the Akshaya Patra Foundation, the world’s largest NGO-run school lunch program, serving over 1.6 million children in 13,839 schools across 12 states in India. Every ticket sold will go towards a lifetime of revitalization so that children can learn, live, and begin to hope.
