The event is a benefit for Arts & Lectures’ education programs, Access for ALL, that serves more than 30,000 students and community members annually. Broadway star Jonathan Groff brings his remarkable versatility and warmth to an intimate evening of song and conversation. Fresh from his “dazzling and immersive love letter to live performance” (The Washington Post) as Bobby Darin in Just in Time and his Tony-winning turn in Merrily We Roll Along – now available as VOD through multiple streaming services including Apple TV and Amazon Prime – Groff continues to enthrall audiences on stage and screen. Known to millions as the royally hilarious, scene-stealing King George III in Hamilton, as well as for standout work in Spring Awakening, Mindhunter, Frozen and more, he is a performer whose presence lights up every room. Tony Award-winning actor and singer Jonathan Groff currently leads the acclaimed Broadway show Just In Time, where he stars as ‘Bobby Darin.’ Jonathan was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical at the 2025 Tony awards.
Previously, Jonathan starred in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along.
Helmed by Maria Friedman, the musical also featured Daniel Radcliffe and Lindsay Mendez. In June 2024, Groff earned his first Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of ‘Franklin Shephard.’
Jonathan can also be seen in M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock At The Cabin opposite Dave Bautista, as well as a leading role in the Warner Bros reboot of The Matrix: Resurrections opposite Keanu Reeves and directed by Lana Wachowski.
Jonathan also stars in the 2024 independent feature for Levantine Films A Nice Indian Boy. Directed by Roshan Sethi, Groff stars as the lead alongside Karan Soni. The film premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival.
Jonathan rose to prominence in 2006 for his performance in the lead role of ‘Melchior Gabor’ in the original Broadway production of Spring Awakening, for which he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
He returned to Broadway in 2015 to play the role of ‘King George III’ in Hamilton, a performance for which he earned a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Groff can be seen in the 2020 filmed version of the hit musical now on Disney+ which won the 2021 Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded). Since 2017, Groff stars in the lead role as FBI ‘Special Agent Holden Ford’ in David Fincher’s, Netflix period crime drama Mindhunter.
Jonathan famously voices the role of ‘Kristoff’ in the blockbuster Walt Disney Animation Studios’ franchise of Frozen. Groff is known for such TV roles as the lead-character ‘Patrick Murray’ in the HBO comedy-drama series Looking, and its subsequent series finale television film, Looking: The Movie, the Starz political drama Boss, and the recurring role of ‘Jesse St. James’ in the Fox musical-comedy series Glee.
