Tina Schlieske, longtime frontwoman of Tina and the B-Sides, is a Minneapolis music icon known for her electrifying stage presence and fearless genre-crossing. From her early days in the Twin Cities rock scene to releasing albums on Sire Records and sharing stages with Etta James, Lenny Kravitz, and the Indigo Girls, Schlieske has built a career rooted in authenticity and raw musical power. Her songs draw from rock, soul, Americana, and punk—blending bold songwriting with a voice that commands attention.
In recent years, Tina has continued to reinvent herself through projects like her feminist-punk band Genital Panic, the jazz-tinged “Sinatra to Simone” sets, and her California-based band, Graceland Exiles. A standout moment at The New Standards Holiday Show earned her high praise from Star Tribune critic Jon Bream, who called her James Brown cover “the most moving moment I’ve experienced at a Twin Cities concert this year.”
Now living in California, Schlieske balances performance with mentorship, serving as music director for “Sing It Out!”, a program supporting self-expression for at-risk youth in Ventura County. With a star on the iconic First Avenue wall and a legacy of reinvention, Tina Schlieske continues to be a powerful force in American music.
