Sansum Clinic Teen Health Roundable
Sansum Clinic will gather expert physicians from multiple specialties for an afternoon roundtable on the picture of teen health in Santa Barbara County on Friday March 6, 2020 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the Lovelace Conference Room at Ridley-Tree Cancer Center at Sansum Clinic 540 W. Pueblo Street. The panel’s collective wisdom and clinical experience will shed light on the greatest health risks teens face and what parents can do to encourage good decisions. The discussion will focus on some of the most urgent topics facing families of teenagers such as vaping, sexually-transmitted diseases, substance and alcohol addition, digital distractions, sports-related injuries and skin cancer prevention. “As the mother of a teenager, I have first-hand experience with the range of 21st century challenges our children are facing. As a doctor, I am keenly aware of how the adolescent years have a long-lasting impact on a young person’s current and future health. We hope this event will illuminate what we can do as parents and as a community,” remarked Marjorie Newman, MD, Sansum Clinic Medical Director, who will emcee the roundtable.
The panel will include Sansum Clinic Pediatrician Dan Brennan, MD, Laura Polito, MD, Associate Medical Director UC Santa Barbara Student Health, David Rafael, MD and Heather Terbell, MD of the Sansum Clinic Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Tom Anderson, MD and Ryan Arnold, MD from Sansum Clinic’s Urgent Care, Sansum Clinic Dermatologist Bret Davis, MD, and Sean Johnson, Sansum Clinic’s Vice President of Applications and Analytics. Attendees are welcome to meet the panelists at a reception with refreshments in Ridley-Tree’s Healing Garden immediately following the discussion.
The roundtable was organized by Julie Nadel and Bobbie Rosenblatt of the Sansum Clinic Women’s Council, who frequently donate their time to help educate the community about timely health issues.
Attendees are welcome to complimentary valet parking. The event is free but reservations are required by February 27. For more information or to RSVP, please call (805) 681-1756 or email [email protected].
