Sanctuary Centers Handprints of Hope
Since 1976, Sanctuary Centers has served over 10,000 adults living with mental illness and substance abuse, continuously filling the gaps in services. Their current programs include: a 12-bed inpatient treatment, outpatient mental health, psychiatry, 36 low-income supportive housing units, co-occurring disorders therapy (mental illness + substance use), psychological testing/research, career development, serving the incarcerated and running the Integrated Care Clinic.
For the last seven years, Sanctuary Centers has proudly hosted a Recovery Month event to celebrate and show support for those choosing recovery.
This event has grown each year, bringing more people and local treatment & recovery organizations together to foster connection, share success stories and bond as a community. It’s our mission to show our clients that they have our full support—and encourage them to keep moving forward!
This year, Sanctuary is proudly keeping the spirit alive! In order to ensure that everyone stays safe, our Recovery Month celebration is going to be a little different. Instead of a one-day gathering, we are spreading the message of recovery throughout the entire month.
While maintaining proper social distancing etiquette, on September 18, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., clients will be completing a mural, “Handprints of Hope,” and Sanctuary will be distributing backpacks full of donations from the community! This event will take place at 1136 De La Vina St., Santa Barbara, CA, 93102.
We are all finding unique ways to contribute and to help our clients in recovery. We hope that you will join us.
