The local’s favorite Members Only Barber Shop (also known as M.O.B.S) recently relocated to 2005 State Street. Owner and Tonsorial Artist, Henry Franco, has once again transformed his space into a classic barber shop with vintage charm and modern luxury. The new location boasts a larger layout which Henry is also utilizing as a creative space to showcase local art. The grand opening for the new location will coincide with the opening reception of the gallery’s first art exhibit featuring local artist, Ray Cirerol. This reception is open to the public and will take place Sunday, March 11, from 1pm-5pm.

Ray Cirerol’s mixed media work has been on display at the Sullivan Goss Gallery and more recently at the Museum of Ventura County. This solo exhibit entitled “Blessed is the Fruit” features 22 pieces of Ray’s most recent work. Ray Cirerol’s artwork offers his perspective of the Mexican-American family lifestyle while also playfully depicting every day images. The exhibit’s name is in reference to the hidden apparitions of the Virgen de Guadalupe that can often be found within each of his paintings. Each piece created by Ray Cirerol includes a hand-constructed frame, made from common items such as craft sticks, toothpicks, wooden match sticks, bamboo skewers, string, thread, burlap, linen and canvas.
