Population, Health, and Environment Connections: Planetary Health from Global to Local

FREE Sunday Lecture, at Goleta Valley Library, November 19, 2017, 2pm, 500 N Fairview Ave., Goleta. Professor David Lopez-Carr, from UCSB’s Dept of Geography, will talk about current studies that improve planetary health, from his Center of Expertise on Planetary Health at UCSB. Once such project introduces prawns to key river systems in sub-Saharan Africa. These prawns eat the snails that host parasitic worms that cause disease, a problem originally created by the building of dams. Free snacks!
