Pediatric Urgent Care Conference Spotlights Solution to Burnout in Health Care

February 7, 2020 @ 9:00 am PST

Simon Fox, Executive Director of Adventures In Caring Foundation, will present their most recent innovation, Oxygen for Caregivers: How to Guard Against Burnout, Build Resilience and Sustain Compassion, on Friday February 7,  9:00 am at the Pediatric Urgent Care Conference (PUCC2020). The lecture will be held at the Hilton in Universal City.

The course tackles the thorny problem of caregiver burnout and how compassion can be sustained over the length of a career. Fox presents the key abilities that determine whether caregivers move from a state of suffering to one of well-being. Until now, they have been considered personality traits attributed only to the strongest or most gifted.

The Oxygen for Caregivers Course is the result of a multidisciplinary collaboration among expert caregivers in the Santa Barbara community who cracked the code and produced a simple, evidence-based way to develop these abilities through a skillset called the ABC’s of Well-Being.
