Optimize Your Retention Schedule:
Big Bucket vs Small Bucket, What’s Right for You?

Presented June 11, 2019
1:00PM – 2:00PM EST (10:00AM-11:00AM PDT)

This free webcast will cover how to find the right balance of record series to include in a retention schedule through the lens of both legal mapping and the usability perspective.

The current trend record retention schedule is to go big bucket. In our practice we’ve seen clients with as few as 45 record series buckets in their schedules. We’ve also been presented with client retention schedules that are carrying several hundred record series. In this session we will discuss how to find the right balance of record series to include and we will do so from the legal mapping perspective as well as the usability perspective. We’ll also discuss the basics around schedule development to give perspective on why sometimes adding/removing buckets becomes an internal political necessity. Steve and Brenda will share the knowledge of having developed or redeveloped (existing from the client) many client retention schedules over the years.
