New Evening Storytime for Families Launches at Santa Barbara Central Library

Join the Central Library for stories and songs every Tuesday at 5:30 pm!

The Santa Barbara Central Library is excited to announce its new, weekly Family Storytime beginning on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 5:30 pm. Family Storytime is designed to offer early literacy enrichment for preschool through second grade students, and offer a storytime option outside of the traditional work and school day. This class is designed for families, especially those with children of different ages, to participate in singing, talking, playing, reading, and writing activities to develop literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.

Central Library offers the following weekly early literacy classes: 

  • Preschool Storytime, best for ages 3-5: Tuesdays at 10:30 am
  • Family Storytime, for the whole family, children ages 3-7: Tuesdays at 5:30 pm
  • Baby & Me, best for babies 0-18 months: Wednesdays at 11:30 & 12:30
  • Wiggly Storytime, best for toddlers, ages 1 to 3: Thursdays at 10:30 am
  • Fabulous Friday, best for toddlers and preschoolers: Fridays at 10:15  & 11 am
  • Bilingual Storytime, best for toddlers and preschoolers: Saturdays at 11:30 am
