Moving Day Protest

June 26, 2021 @ 1:00 am PDT

On June 30th, our eviction protections will end. But our housing crisis hasn’t.

So many of our families have lost their life savings during the pandemic and cannot afford to stay in their homes if their rent is increased.  We need long-term protections including rent stabilization now!

On June 26th, community partners and organizations will participate in the “Moving Day” protest against displacement in Santa Barbara!

We call upon the Santa Barbara City Council to get moving on the Community Stabilization Initiative so our families don’t have to. (Find out more at: bit.ly/petitionsb)

We are asking community members to bring luggage, decorated moving boxes and other moving supplies to symbolize the displacement of our communities as we protest up State Street.  Our rally will start at the Santa Barbara Amtrak Station at 209 State Street and head to De La Guerra Plaza.
