May Flowers 5K Virtual Race

The Laguna Blanca School Running for Charity is hosting a virtual “May Flowers 5K” race on May 8th to benefit the animals in care at Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network. A 100% student-run club, Running for Charity’s mission is to raise money, through running, for charitable causes that make an impact on the Santa Barbara community.

Virtual races have become increasingly popular recently in lieu of in-person races that are no longer an option due to Covid-19. They require nothing except you and your phone. We are using the app Open Race to track each contestant’s distance and time. You have the option to choose where you want to run, whether that is in your neighborhood, on the beach, or on a trail.

Getting its name from the popular saying “April showers bring May flowers,” Running for Charity is excited to ring in May with a virtual race. All proceeds from the race will go to the Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network. Learn more at https://lbs-running-for-charity.weeblysite.com/
