We are a world in flux.
In this consistent state of change, finding a path to calm is almost impossible. It takes effort to keeping ourselves upright and moving forward, while this drift and unknowingness takes all our energy. We all feel now as if in constant motion both physically and emotionally. For Marian Crostic, finding that peace comes at the waters edge.
Littoral Drift is a special event hosted by wall space creative at the Santa Barbara Center for Art & Technology. Her series, Sea Change is an abstract vision of the waters edge, the organic connection between liquid and solid. This high contrast work belies its softness, with striking emphasis on the graphic and non-linear patterns in nature.
Marian Crostic made the career change from the fashion world to photography over a decade ago. Turning her creativity from fabrics towards imagery, this group of photographs fundamentally started taking shape and vision on her morning walks along Venice Beach. Meditative in nature the series is about importance of seeing ones own environment with a present, reflective and introspective eye.
Wall space creative and SBCAST present Marian Crostic’s beautiful haunting landscapes during a special weekend event in September.

About wall space creative –
First opened in Seattle, Washington in 2005 wall space focuses on emerging and mid career artists and expanding the ideas of what photography is as well as what it can be. Our artists are craftsman, using photography as an integral part of their work, but layering emotional stories with techniques and processes that enhance the visual experience. The gallery has gained an international reputation for finding and showcasing new artists and exposing new ideas. In addition to our exhibition and fair schedule, we have a series of artist lectures, studio and community events.
Wall space opened its Santa Barbara location in 2010. The gallery is the only gallery in Santa Barbara focused on fine art photography.
wall space creative is by appointment and always available on-line.
