Lunch & Learn: Land Conservation for Vibrant Communities w/ Dr. Ana Alvarez

Deputy General Manager Dr. Ana Alvarez of the East Bay Region Park District—the largest local park agency in the United States—is leading a virtual conversation about land conservation’s role in promoting vibrant, healthy communities through natural benefits, parks, recreation, and more.
Dr. Alvarez has delivered award-winning and nationally recognized parks, programs, and capital development of community facilities. She is bicultural and bilingual (Spanish/English) with a background in social policy based on the intersectionality of conservation, equity, and inclusion. She is a recipient of San Francisco’s Green Pioneer Award and serves on the Board of Councilors for the University of California’s Natural Reserve System, a network of 756,000 acres of natural areas throughout California, as well as serving as the Vice Chair of the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority’s Advisory Committee.
