Know Your Rights Presentation on Immigration

Rural Legal Association and the Santa Barbara Public Library are hosting forum on immigration rights with immigration attorney Marisol Alarcon Wednesday, October 25th, from 6:30 -8:00 pm.  Participants will obtain information on constitutional rights and general information regarding immigration laws.

Participants may also obtain a Caregiver’s Authorization Affidavit form and receive assistance in completing the form.  Ms. Alarcon will address general questions on the status of immigration programs and pathway toward permanent residency.

Community Worker, Chuy Rocha said, “It is very important people are able to know and exercise their rights and obtain free legal information from the appropriate sources.”

The presentation is open to the public and will be provided in Spanish with the necessary English translation.

La organización Asistencia Rural de California (CRLA) junto con la Biblioteca de Santa Barbara y la abogada deInmigración, Marisol Alarcon, estarán auspiciando una presentación de, “Conozca sus Derechos” sobre Inmigración.  El público participante obtendrá información básica sobre los derechos constitucionales e información general sobre las leyes migratorias.

Aparte de la información antes mencionada, se obsequiará el formulario de la Autorización para el Cuidado de los hijos y se otorgara ayuda para completar tal formulario si las personal desean la ayuda.  Al igual, la Abogada Alarcon contestara preguntas relacionadas a las leyes de inmigración y hacia el camino a la residencia permanente incluyendo el DACA.  El Trabajador Comunitario Jesus Rocha dijo, “es muy importante que la gente conozca y apliquen sus derechos y obtengan información legal gratis de los recursos apropiados.  Esta presentación es abierta al público en general y será presentada en español con la traducción necesaria.
