Marta Saunders is seventeen during the summer of 1974, a season of mounting tensions as the Watergate scandal unfolds, an energy crisis lingers on, and in “The Valley” area of Los Angeles where Marta, her sister and her father live, famous heiress Patty Hearst is hiding out with the SLA… Marta becomes convinced that young Patty Hearst is being held hostage against her will and becomes consumed with the welfare of the 19 year-old fugitive as she herself struggles to grow up and find peace in her own unfair and changing world.
Kiddo was recently produced at the Center Stage Theatre in Santa Barbara, the Hudson Theater in Chelsea, N.Y. and the Plaza Playhouse Theater (aka “The Alcazar”) in Carpinteria.
