KDB (93.7 FM) will air a recording of the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra’s final concert of the 2016-17 season at 8 pm on Saturday, August 19. Recorded May 16 at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, the performance includes Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 2 and his Piano Concerto in A Minor, the latter featuring acclaimed Italian pianist Alessio Bax. The recording will be broadcast as an installment of “Santa Barbara in Concert,” a regular KDB program that features performances presented by local ensembles and organizations.
The Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra recently announced that it would disband after almost 40 seasons. The organization is planning a celebratory final concert for October 9. Additional details will be announced soon.
