Issues, Approaches & Consequences of the Covid-19 Crisis

UCSB Faculty members and experts from the Santa Barbara community will offer lecture/discussion sessions on a variety of facets and insights into the COVID-19 pandemic,and its implications across a range of areas.

We encourage faculty, staff, students,and community members to attend.

Sessions will convene Tuesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom webinar system. Get the Zoom software and use Webinar ID 644-027-449, or use https://ucsb.zoom.us/j/644027449 to join in.

Individual speakers from a variety of disciplines will address these topics on the following dates:
April 14: SARS-CoV2:The Virus and the Disease
April 21: Current Epidemiological Models: Scientific Basis and Evaluation
April 28: Coping with Heterogeneity and Uncertainty of COV-19 Datasets
May 5: From Epidemiological Models to Making Decisions about Epidemic Control
May 12, 19, 26, and June 2 and 9:TBD

The last five weeks will consider historical aspects and lessons from similar epidemics, social and psychological aspects,ethics, economic impacts, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning models and interventions.
