Headless Household returns to SOhO on March 20 with a specific mission and musical agenda this time out: to celebrate the 25th birthday of one of its seminal albums, Inside/Outside USA. After releasing its debut in 1987, the eponymous vinyl outing (also now available on Compact Disc), they connected with engineer Bruce Winter at his Area 51 Studio to create an even more eclectic song set, released in 1993.

Many of the songs from that album have filtered into Household sets ever since, including “Saloonacy,” “Trouble in Whoville,” “Wintering in Heaven” and “Denver Umlaut.” But many of the tunes—including “Sufferin’ USA,” “Free James Brown,” “The Mayor’s Send-Off” (a requiem for the late, great Santa Barbaran drummer Tony Moreno) and the vocal tunes “Woe to Him (Who Builds his House on Salty Sand” and “I Can’t Remember the Words“–are either lesser-played Household numbers, or have been lost to the void in the band’s live sets.
