Goleta City Council-member Roger Aceves’ Discussion on Future of Old Town Goleta

April 18, 2019 @ 8:30 am PDT

Goleta Councilmember Roger Aceves is ready to listen.

On April 18th, Councilmember Aceves will host a direct conversation with business owners and residents to talk about the future of Old Town Goleta. “We have been talking about what to do with Old Town since 2006, when I was first elected to the City Council. It’s time we actually listen to those who live and work in this part of our city.”

Hosted by Old Town Coffee, Aceves’ hope is that people will come out and have a frank and honest dialogue about their neighborhood. “Enough with the lip service, it’s time for us to put forth logical solutions to improve Old Town’s infrastructure. Step one in this process is making sure those invested in this area are at the forefront of that policy.”

Topics such as parking, sidewalk limitations, traffic mitigation will be discussed over freshly brewed, local coffee. “Not everyone has the ability to make it to City Council meetings to voice their opinions. This is an opportunity for those individuals to speak directly in what I hope is a more casual and friendly setting,” Aceves said. Spanish translation will be provided.

“I hope to foster a productive conversation and learn a bit more about the concerns and issues confronting people in Old Town every day. It’s time we give the neighborhood the respect it deserves.”

Coffee with a Councilmember will be held on April 18th, from 8:30AM to 10:00AM, at Old Town Coffee in Goleta.
