Free Marine Flare Collection Event (Rain or Shine!)

Marine flares contain hazardous chemicals and expire every 36 to 42 months. If disposed of improperly, they can harm the environment and pose a fire risk.

If you are a recreational boater in Santa Barbara County, you can safely and free of charge dispose of expired marine flares at the Santa Barbara Harbor on Sunday, November 16.

The event will take place rain or shine!

The event is open to recreational boaters who live in or have their vessels moored in Santa Barbara County. Proof of residency or payment of the mooring fee will be required. Commercial flares and other hazardous waste will not be accepted.
