Free 4th of July Community Parade & Concert

July 4, 2019 @ 1:00 am PDT

Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) invites community members to wear their red, white and blue for the 56th Annual Fourth of July Parade and spend the evening listening to patriotic melodies at the Courthouse Sunken Garden.

Local organizations will come together for PCVF’s Fourth of July Parade, which begins at 1 p.m. at Micheltorena and State streets and continues down State to Cota Street. Family and friends can also enjoy the 4th of July Concert featuring Ellis Island: The Dream of America, Presented by the West Coast Symphony Orchestra, at 5 p.m. at the Courthouse Sunken Garden. Both events are free of charge.

“Pierre dedicated himself to honoring our veterans, and we’re honored to continue his mission on the most patriotic day of the year through the Fourth of July Parade and Concert,” said John Blankenship, PCVF Co-Founder. “Both will capture the pride and spirit of the holiday for everyone to enjoy.”

This year’s concert will feature pieces from Composer Peter Boyer’s Ellis Island: The Dream of America, the world premiere preview of David Stern’s finale to his “Neo Romantic Violin Concerto,” and other patriotic favorites.

The parade will feature entries from Santa Barbara Peace Corps Association, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 218, Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Pipe & Drum Corps, La Boheme professional dance group, Santa Barbara City Firefighters, elected officials and more.

Attendees are encouraged to bring low beach chairs, blankets and sun protection. Visit www.pcvf.org or call (805) 259-4394 for more information.
