Art & Soul Gallery is honored to present Entre Mundos (Between Worlds), a solo exhibition by Mexican artist Beatris Burgoin, opening Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5–8 PM. Through expressive portraiture and evocative landscapes, Burgoin explores the complexity of living between two emotional and geographical homelands: the intimate fishing village of San Juanico, Baja California Sur, and the vibrant coastal city of Santa Barbara, California.
Each painting is a meditation on memory, migration, and the search for belonging. From the quiet resilience etched in the faces of elders to the sunlit cliffs of California’s coastline, Burgoin’s work is rooted in love—for people, for place, and for the ongoing journey of becoming. Her portraits capture more than likeness—they are reflections of history, personality, and the unspoken bonds that tie us to our origins.
“I paint the people I know and the places I come from—my family, my neighbors, the streets, and the ocean that shaped me,” says Burgoin. “These two worlds live within me and shape how I see and what I create. Through painting, I stay connected to where I come from and explore who I am becoming—living between cultures, languages, landscapes, and worlds.”
About the Artist Born and raised in San Juanico, Baja California Sur, Beatris Burgoin draws upon her deep personal connection to her community, heritage, and coastal landscapes. Now based in Santa Barbara, she bridges two cultures in her work, creating paintings that honor both her origins and her present. Her art has been featured in exhibitions throughout California and Mexico. www.beatrisburgoin.com
