WHY:
Discover how the lives and the paintings of three noted artists: Renoir, Dufy and Outterbridge, each continued to paint while coping with the pain and disability of rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Louie has dedicated more than forty years to the Arthritis Foundation during his career in Rheumatology as a clinician, academician and researcher. He is currently Professor Emeritus in Rheumatology at UCLA. In addition to medical and scientific lectures, he has presented at the Art Institute of Chicago, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Hammer, Joslyn, Kemper, Cleveland, and other museums throughout the world on artists with arthritis.
