Comedy for Canines: A Spark Rescue Fundraiser

Bring your pet for a costume contest and fun night of comedy with Santa Barbara Pet Sitters at Wine Therapy.

Four amazing comics will provide belly laughs on the back patio of Wine Therapy from 6 to 8pm. Santa Barbara’s very own Pet Sitter, Brooke Lyn Landon will kick things off. Brooke is a confidence building coach that recently had a successful Ted Talk. She will be followed by Chris Williams who is the creator of Let Loose Comedy in Santa Barbara. During intermission, Santa Barbara Pet Sitters and Wine Therapy will provide prizes for a Pet Costume Contest voted on by audience members. Afterwards, two more amazing comics hit the stage all the way from Los Angeles. Galina Rivina has been performing comedy for 9 years, has written for Roasts on Comedy Central, and co-produces and hosts a monthly stand up show called “The Jump Off”. The headliner, Julia Austin, has been performing for a decade and was named top comic to watch by Time Magazine and has performed at the “Netflix is a Joke” Festival.

With a suggested donation of $10 per person for comedy and $5 entry fee per dog for the pet costume contest, your generous donations will go directly to Spark Rescue Santa Barbara and will have you and your pup’s tail wagging with a good time for a great cause.

Spark Rescue is a non-profit 501c (3) charity organization whose focus is finding permanent homes for at-risk animals in high-kill shelters in California. The founder, Susan Park, says “Every person who opens up their home to a dog is a life saver. Fostering a dog is easier than you think and more important than you can imagine. By sharing your home and love for a few weeks with a rescue dog, you can help them transition from a stressful and scary shelter environment to a future loving forever home. Being part of that transition is one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have.” Spark Rescue of Santa Barbara is a foster-based rescue that relies on volunteers as well as donations to save the lives of animals that would have otherwise been put down in a high kill shelter.

The event begins promptly at 6pm so come early to grab your seats on the back patio of Wine Therapy located at 12 W. Haley Street directly behind The Cruisery. Wine Therapy offers local wine, beer, and munchies. They recently added a special menu for dogs and also offer Dog Birthday Parties.

Santa Barbara Pet Sitters is owned by Tracy Mongold & Sunny Key with a combined experience of over 20 years in the professional pet care business. Santa Barbara Pet Sitters is a collaboration of two passions that bring them immense joy, caring for animals and the gorgeous city of Santa Barbara.
