Enjoy the cool breezes at the Carpinteria Valley Historical Society and History Museum’s Marketplace scheduled for Saturday, July 27, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the museum grounds, 956 Maple Ave. in downtown Carpinteria.
The tree-lined museum grounds offer shade to and the eclectic gathering of vendors promises treasures for all. Exotic plants, vintage clothing, film camera collections, handicrafts, collectibles, and furniture are just some of the goods for sale.
Looking for a little something from the sea this summer? Head over to CiMMiPOP, for cute crochet and mermaid fun! The whimsical mermaid tails and tiaras (with real shells!) and soft, fuzzy hand-crocheted jellyfish, seals, and octopus are handmade by Carpinteria mom Cimmi Cumes. Learn more on Instagram @cimmipop.
The prices at Granny’s Attic, the booth operated by the museum, begin at 25 cents. The jumble includes toys, linens, kitchenware, dishware, dolls, figurines, record albums, cameras, arts & crafts, and other assorted offerings.
Made possible by community volunteers, the family friendly Marketplace is free and includes musical entertainment. Hot dogs, cold beverages, and snacks are available for purchase. If interested in being part of this event, donating time at the museum, or for looking more information, call (805) 684-3112, email info@carpinteriahistoricalmuseum.org, or visit carpinteriahistoricalmuseum.org. The next Marketplace is scheduled for Aug. 31.
