CALLING ALL MUSICIANS, SINGERS, ARTISTS, DANCERS, AND PERFORMERS
Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara (MCASB) and internationally-acclaimed artist and composer Ari Benjamin Meyers are delighted to offer a unique experience to creative individuals with a passion for performance and music for the US premiere of Kunsthalle for Music, an exhibition in Santa Barbara, California opening in September 2019.
Over the course of six weeks, a specially selected ensemble will take over MCASB to perform original compositions drawn from a repertoire of newly-commissioned and existing solos, duets, and group pieces by artists such as Ei Arakawa & Christian Naujoks, Julius Eastman, and Laure Prouvost, turning the Museum into a performance space unlike any Southern California has encountered before. The eclectic “collection” of over 40 works will be open to variations, reinterpretations, and even new additions, making each day of Kunsthalle for Music a unique experience. Kunsthalle for Music is dedicated to the presentation of music within the histories and environments of the visual arts and was co-founded together with Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam and Spring Workshop, Hong Kong in 2016.
