All For Animals, a Santa Barbara based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce its 20th year of serving the Santa Barbara community with humane education and literacy programs that nurture the human-animal bond. The organization will commemorate the occasion with a 20th Anniversary Wine Down Fur-Raiser at Oreana Winery on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 5-8 pm. The winery is located at 205 Anacapa Street, in the Funk Zone.
All For Animals began operations in 1997 as a community resource and website for animal lovers in Santa Barbara. Over the years, the organization’s mission has evolved and today, they focus on giving children from all walks of life the opportunity to experience the unconditional love of animal companions through the organization’s ARF! (Animals + Reading = Fun!) literacy program, Compassion For Critters Humane Education program, and Therapy Dog Training classes.
“Our programs build on the natural curiosity and affection children have toward animals and helps them create safe and satisfying relationships with animals that will last a lifetime,” says Karen Lee Stevens, the organization’s Founder and Executive Director. To date, the organization has inspired thousands of children and young adults to be kind and respectful to animals, people and the planet and has trained more than 400 local dogs as certified therapy dogs, many of whom are now volunteering with All For Animals, Cottage Hospital, Visiting Nurse and Hospice, and other facilities, where they bring joy and smiles to those in need.
The Wine Down Fur-Raiser will feature a festive evening of live music by The Americana Cats, delicious hors d’oeuvres, a new wine tasting every hour and a silent auction. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting and expanding All For Animals’ programs in Santa Barbara County. Tickets are $35 ($40 at the door), and can be purchased online at allforanimals.eventbrite.com.
This event is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors: Assisted Living Santa Barbara, the Cavaletto Family, and Steven Kubes, Lucido Agency-KW Montecito.
