ACT On Homelessness Collaborative Launches New Three-Year Strategic Plan for South SB County

Homelessness is a challenge that impacts our entire community—and it will take all of us to create meaningful solutions.

The community is invited to attend a launch event for the ACT On Homelessness Collaborative’s new three-year strategic plan to address homelessness in South SB County. The Three-Year Strategic Plan Launch will include a welcome from City mayors, a briefing on current homelessness initiatives, and a review of the new goals for homelessness prevention, assistance, housing retention, and community support. There will also be time for community members to ask questions and provide input. 

The launch event will take place on Monday, March 10, from 12 PM to 1:30 PM at the Faulkner Gallery in the Santa Barbara Public Library. Spanish interpretation will be available. Community members are encouraged to RSVP at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/strategylaunch. 

Landon Ranck, Associate Director with the Santa Barbara Alliance for Community Transformation (SB ACT) said, “The three-year strategic plan is indicative of our combined commitment across South Santa Barbara County to address the homelessness crisis. We know that homelessness is too complex for any one government agency or nonprofit to solve alone, so we are aligning all of our efforts across multiple sectors to enact big changes in our community. We need everyone, including the general public, at the table.”

The ACT On Homelessness Collaborative is only possible with a community-wide effort by the incredible support of many volunteers and partners. 

About the ACT On Homelessness Collaborative

The ACT On Homelessness Collaborative is a South County homelessness coalition made up of leaders from the Cities of Carpinteria, Goleta, Santa Barbara, the County of SB, local homelessness nonprofits, business and philanthropic leaders, and people with lived experience of homelessness. The coalition is convened by the Santa Barbara Alliance for Community Transformation (SB ACT). 

Formed in 2019 in partnership with the City of Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Foundation, the Collaborative has since expanded its impact. It has boosted homelessness outreach initiatives, helped people with significant behavioral health needs move into housing, and created opportunities for community members to engage in local solutions. In 2023, the Collaborative broadened its focus from the City of Santa Barbara to encompass all of South County.
