Join us to find out how to garner media coverage for your organization’s activities, be it a concert, art opening, special event, new building, or fundraising campaign.
In this lively, hands-on session, Julia McHugh shares five key techniques that will increase your chances of getting noticed by newspapers, TV, radio, and online media outlets. Use these, and your odds of exposure go way up.
These are days of the “shrinking news hole,” cutbacks in news staffs, and media outlets going under. You need other options to garner attention. Julia also provides strategies for getting the word out, without depending on traditional media.
Julia has been the Public Relations Director at the Santa Barbara Zoo for 15 years. Prior to that, she spent 10 years as publicist for the Lobero Theatre and worked with a variety of arts and environmental nonprofit clients. She teaches Public Relations at Santa Barbara City College, and earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America in 2010.
