Dia De Los Muertos Carpinteria offers a free Annual Community Festival Celebration honoring and celebrating those whom have passed. Their annual Parade is lead by Aztec Ceremonial Dancers each year and all are welcome to join. They also do a Youth Arts & Culture Outreach into local schools & afterschool programs. A community Altar will be set up at the Post Parade Celebration for community to add their momentos. Celebrate Life, Honor, Remember.
October 28th – 1:00 – 4:00, Art Workshops & Presentations, Carpinteria Arts Center. Join Artist in Residence – Emiliano Campobello who will lead in the history & creation of Totem Spirit Animals Art- All ages & levels invited.
October 29th – 4:00, Parade lead by Aztec Ceremonial Dancers. Meet at Carpinteria Train Station (facepainting & henna design begins @ 2:30) Parade travels up Linden Avenue ending at Carpinteria Womans Club.
4:30 – 7:30, Post Parade Celebration, Carpinteria Womans Club. View the Art Installation “Totem Spirit Animals” of over 100 pieces from dozens of artists & community youth! Music, Traditional Food, Vendors. Also, contribute to the Community Altar & participate in live Community Mural Creation lead by Artist, Emiliano Campobello. Free and for the entire family.
Don’t miss the Giant Paper Mache Puppets & Floats that will adorn a variety of businesses on Linden Avenue during the two day Festival. Thank you to our partners; Summer Solstice Celebration Santa Barbara, Carpinteria Arts Center & Carpinteria Womans Club.
