I didn't see where this gives the age of the thieves, just calls them "subjects". Do we know they are kids?

A light caning wouldn't be out of order here. Kids shouldn't get off lightly when then cause misery to others.

@Lucky 777 - You are right-on... My best friend, was a Police Officer down in the San Diego area, and after a few years, she finally got frustrated enough to quit. This was back in the early 1980's !! They would get calls, remove young kids from an abusive home, just to have the kids back in that same home again, and she would be at that same home many times, for the same problem. After she quit, it took quite a while for her to deal with all the nonsense ..... and she went to law school, and is currently a lawyer, but NOT in San Diego.... The system hasn't worked very well for a long time, in many cities.

COASTWATCH is absolutely correct. I interact with a lot of law enforcement personnel and the bitterness of participating in the futile injustice system undermines their dedication to their jobs.

Nothing will happen to Juveniles who commit any crime in CA , with the exception of a crime involving bodily injury- NOTHING. Just a court appearance and MAYBE a month at Juvi.

I heard the BOLO on that stolen vehicle a few days ago....People work so hard they don't deserve to have their things stolen.
