FOR ADOPTION

Meet Scabby! This beautiful medium-haired, 4-yr old cat is not scabby at all! He is an indoor/outdoor strapping tomcat, who is an excellent hunter. He can be feisty, but also tender and sweet. If you are looking for a cat who can clean up your yard from gophers, mice and rats, and then come in and purr in your lap, Scabby is for you! (Not recommended with small children or dogs). Please contact Randall at 805.252.8374.

Cat of the Week: Scabby

Let's distinguish between animals that co-exist with us peacefully and those that are a scourge. We are an "invasive species" responsible for usurping habitats and extinctions, but I draw a line at feeling guilty about it & being "live and let live" when it comes to species that damage my home (termites), invade my kitchen (ants, flies), and eat my garden. Then it's war.

Name is horrible! Having a cat to hunt rats, mice and gophers is much better than putting out poison for the varmints. At one time we had dozen cats, on 5 acres, who did all the gopher hunting in our orchard. Never saw them catch a bird.

Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean that commenter is making it up. Google it.

Awful to advocate for an animal to be used to kill other animals. Cats are known to be the number one threat next to habitat destruction for wild birds. Disgusting to see people who are supposed to be rescuing animals advocating for releasing them into the wild to kill.

What a horrible name! Let's hope that doesn't keep him from being adopted.
