There’s nothing “yellow” about this group of local authors who braved the sun and heat on First Thursday in order to place their books in the bright yellow hashtag Tiny Library on State Street.

The authors are, from left to right: John Holman (Pom’s Odyssey), Gary Delanoeye (Checking in at the Crowbar Hotel), Catherine A. Weissenberg (Beyond Ever After: A Heart-to-Heart Journey Through Death and the Afterlife), Betsy J. Green (Way Back When: Santa Barbara in 1918), Bruce Kirkpatrick (The Resurrection of Johnny Roe), Nate Streeper (Murder on the Orion Express), Jeanine Kitchel (Wheels Up—A Novel of Drugs, Cartels and Survival), Phil Mayes (How Two: Have a Successful Relationship), and Hal Price (The Adventures of Eli Benjamin Bear).

Don't forget all the Little Free Libraries scattered around the neighborhoods. More info here: https://littlefreelibrary.org

I love this celebration of reading, writing and lending. The picture of all the authors is just great. We are so fortunate to have so many creative authors right here in Santa Barbara. Just a little correction, because I read his excellent Sci Fi book, Nate Streeper's book is Murder on the Orion Express. (You left out Orion.)

This State Street Tiny Library is so clever, as is Pianos on State Street. Thank you to whomever thinks of these things for all of us to enjoy!

Don't stay away from the book sale at Earl Warren. So many books and other stuff (CDs, DVDs, maps, sheet music, records, etc) to choose from at ridiculously great prices. There's always room for a book - if not for you, then to give to someone. The best time to have empty bookshelves is later- much, much later!

My goal is to donate two or three books a week, not take any home, AND to stay away from the Planned Parenthood book sale this coming week.

It's the annual State Street art sculpture that holds the free library books mid downtown. There's bout 6 of them, each one a huge metal punctuation mark.
