Really doesn't matter what the dog was for. Brats had no right to take it from the owner, even if it was just a pet.

I'd be emotional if I was someones pet...

Does anyone know if this was a true service dog? Seems like you've all decided it was an emotional pet.

Regular stealing is different, in my opinion, than taking a dog someone depends on, making it hard on the owner. Kidnapping a best friend Causing discomfort is a bullying tactic. More like pushing or hitting than simply taking material belongs.

I think action should have been taken. It was some sort of bullying tactic.

FLICKA - do you know what happened? How was it bullying and not just theft?

From what I see when I travel, a lot of people have "emotional" service dogs that are untrained, scruffy and jump on strangers or become trip hazards running in front of people. Real service dogs are a blessing to the handicapped and take a lot of training. The people taking their pets with them for free and creating allergy problems for paying customers are like the falsely people park in handicapped parking places. There's an obvious need for verifiable certification because of self-centered jerks.

Why don't you put yourself in their place before you condemn or dismiss the animals value to the owner? It's far too easy for you to sit there and project your opinions when you have no first hand knowledge of the situation. Walk beside them. Just walk and give it a chance.

Until something happens to the emotional service animal and the offender gets mutilated some how...

"Emotional service dogs" are a complete fraud.

Airplanes, restaurants, shops, and rental housing are the biggest places to find fraudulent "service animals". IMO, it's generally those that are narcissistic and self-centered that feel justified in doing so. For those than are truly disabled, and require a service animal, I find these frauds to be immoral and disgisting. Yes, just like those that fraudulently use the handicapped parking places.

If it was a true service dog, they are very valuable due to the extensive training requirements. That theft would be a felony. I hope they pursue this and throw the book at them.

Amen, to that statement. So many fraud "service dogs" out now. It's a complete slap in the face to anyone with a true need and a trained and working service dog.

Hopefully it was returned safely. Agree that it should not have been taken at all.
