A vegetation fire in the area of 2100 Las Canoas Road, burning in Santa Barbara City.

Also a chainsaw explosion and burn victim in the 1000 block of Los Canoas Road, I don't know if this incident has anything to do with the fire burning nearby. Engine 2 is responding to this incident, the victim was transported to Cottage Hospital. Engine 2 escort for manpower.

"Chainsaw Explosion" is troubling, would like more details. Chainsaws don't explode and rarely catch fire.. Let 'em cool off before refueling, don't be working late into the hot part of the day. Same with weed-cutters and generators. These useful tools have fuel tanks smaller than user's bladders to facilitate taking a break.

I have evacuated my 95-year old mother, caretaker and dog from Las Canoas. Saw more trucks headed up there. We have a breeze downtown and wonder how it is up there.
