Looks like another mad-dog middle-aged paraglider wiped out and needed a rescue. Good rescue training for the fire department though because occasionally someone who wasn’t going max out on a testosterone-fueled adventure might need a rescue. Doesn’t happen often, I know.

According to the Los Padres open trails map (at this edhat link: https://www.edhat.com/news/forestwatch-launches-app-showing-public-trails-status), Camino Cielo is closed, too.

Paragliders use all three of the launch sites up there ... the one west of La Cumbre Peak off ECC (EJ's Bowl) and the two that are next to each other on Gibraltar (Eliminator and Skyport). The injured pilot launched from Skyport.

Hangliders typically use either EJ's or Eliminator.

With all the trails and the roads closed up there, one might wonder how he was able to get there. Perhaps the hospital bill will be accompanied by a forest closure fine of an additional $5k+. Thanks to all the first responders who were up there!
