Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to a garbage truck that caught fire in the 500 block of Coronado in Goleta on Wednesday.

Around 9:30 a.m., crews were on the scene of a refuse truck, another term for a garbage truck, whose load had caught fire. It was extinguished and there was no runoff threat, reports the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The exact cause is under investigation.

We believe it's the load that the truck was carrying. The driver dropped it in the street for firefighters to put out.

Yes , they were already dumping and spreading the load within 2 minutes before Engine 11 was even on the scene.
