well that is all well & good. i am sure the public will comply because they have too much to lose.

now who is going to insist on responsible behavior from the homeless ? they have little to lose and probably get a big laugh out of it all.

i forget - why are we paying taxes ???

The pretend outrage that the "homeless" don't behave as the general population is annoying. We know that people who are homeless often suffer from mental health issues and substance abuse problems. If they were like "you" they wouldn't be there in the first place. Stop this petty and harmful slander. Stop ignoring the reality and help us build a solution other than "Just Say No"!

I don't think it's the "homeless"... or urban campers as we call them. If you have no shelter, but make one in the bushes - why, would you set fire to it? On a warm or hot day? Why? I keep hearing about 'warming fires'... really?! When it 78-80 degrees? Where was the search for the young woman who was starting fires at the off ramps down town, and then along the railroad tracks heading north last year??

To cook meth or dinner.
Per SBFD half of their fire responses are to encampments as a result of drug use, cooking or warming fires.
Last year a guy died when his camping stove blew up & started a fire in a Goleta creek.

Investing in fireproof shelter in place is wise if possible. While working on a Montecito project years ago I talked with the MFD top dogs, who agreed with me that the Paint Fire proved that full evacuation is simply impossible unless it starts a day before the fire! The front moved @60mph down to Hope Ranch and fortunately (sort of) only one life was lost.
There is no excuse for new houses not being fireproof. I had a client on a hill top above The Botanic Garden, while the neighbors house burned to the ground, the fire proof construction saved the day. Huge fires seem to be the new reality and building for them is prudent.

Thanks, Chief. A good reminder. We all hope this isn't necessary, that the fire(s) don't breach the chaparral or the freeway, or Girsh Park, or wherever we think may be the fire break that saves our homes. Many folks who experienced the 90 Painted Cave fire
https://sbbucketbrigade.org/timeline/1990-paint-fire/ barely got out and many lost livestock and pets, so his reminder to plan for pets was a good one. Anything is possible nowadays with the extreme heat and dryness. Good to be aware and prepare.

If a person is incapable of caring for themselves they should become wards of the State.
So it is the States fault for not caring for these people and endangering the rest of us.
CA, the 5th largest economy in the world.
Newsom was bragging about giving away $15 million to people who got vaccinated.
Obviously the CA Left doesn’t give a rip about the mentally ill in CA.

"If a person is incapable of caring for themselves they should become wards of the State."

Or as Marx put it, ""From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs". It's interesting to see you endorse that approach.
