Hello edhat community, I'm planning to add an ADU unit above my garage and am curious if anyone has experience with a local architectural design firm that can handle the project. Thank you.
KBZ is good...
google is your friend.....try there instead of here...you'll save a lot of time....
Holehouse Construction is currently completing an ADU that was designed by Bill Wolf at Pacific Architects. Both of which are good recommendations.
Or call the AIA-SB; they might have a list of architects who do such ADU work. Note, that not all capable architects belong to the AIA.
I would stick with architects in the AIA
Is Google “really your friend “?
I just googled "Zerohawk".... they're in MIAMI!!!
Thomas V Smith did a great job with our second story and we found him to be economical, easy to communicate with even across a culture/ language gap and he was able to work with several engineers to optimize seismic at good cost above an older house.
In dealing with THIS city, my advice is to ask forgiveness, not permission! They put people through sheer hell in trying to do ANYTHING with their properties. That said, I hope you are converting your space for a local rental and I hope you make it affordable to one local renter... we need this so badly. No more STRs.
