Yikes!

Not that parties are even OK right now but can't go around and stab and shoot people for attending... there is a lot to this story, wonder if we will even heard a 10th of it!

No one else is saying a thing and the person who reported this incident is not one to bull shit so I totally believe this happened just goes to show who the so called real media works for in Santa Barbara county.

Crickets on all local media sources.... KEYT is a TOTAL JOKE....! Weather, Corona Virus, Weather.... What do you expect when their back-house "Staff" is under 25 with no "journalists" on the payroll other than The Palm

I'm guessing (but just a guess) it might be the residence that's been an AirBnB rental for the last several years. Some weekends there could be 10+ cars parked there....

The subject address was 2081 N. San Marcos Road. Deputies questioned at least nine possible witnesses, and detectives were on-scene by 2:15 am. I heard of no arrests or wants put out as of 3:00 am.

No one in their right mind would want to party like that at 2040. That kind of turf scares the shit out of the city boys. Too much already going with the fueds between "neighbors" down there.

A very interesting comment indeed, I agree. I wonder what people buying a 3 million $ home would think of having neighbors like Linthicum! But those are old days... Like Christiana at Windy Gap. Owned by ole what's his name... Things have changed.

Whatever you're referring to is many years old; over and done. Residents sold out. There are public documents. And I misstated the time line, as Painted Cave fire, (allegedly, I guess I should say) set by Linthicum's neighbor Leonard Ross, was in 1990.

Anyone with property adjoining Linthicum can expect to be threatened by a quasi-frivolous lawsuit. He has prevailed in bullying people with threatened litigation because they couldn't afford attorneys. Maybe a new neighbor with deep pockets and a law firm on Wilshire Blvd. would love to go toe-to-toe. He pushed Lennie Ross over the edge and look what happened.

They are not legally permitted in the county- a search of county planning website shows no permits at that location for "homestays" which are the only permissible "short term rentals" in the county jurisdiction. A zoning complaint should be submitted.

These illegal rentals are all over. Many people have bought homes in the area for the specific purpose of renting them to partiers who want to wreck hell in Santa Barbara. My own neighborhood has several but the city (Santa Barbara) is loath to get involved.

Yes, this would seem to be an investment property, as the Sheriffs had to contact a property manager about access and matters related to the search of the house.

Who is loath to get involved? Code inspectors? Short term rental group? Cops? Planning department? Sometimes in City Gov you have to bug a lot of people until you find someone who is actually responsible and wants to do their job. And you can always let your Councilperson know what is going on.

situations are simply the result of negligence. residences with endless "parties" destroy the lives of others in the area. i wonder how many nights of sleep have been lost - how many peoples' children could have been in the line of fire from a stray bullet. the neighbors should file a lawsuit.

Pitmix: All of the agencies I contacted from Mayor to council member to police to public works tried to deny they had authority, deny there was anything that could be done, put the burden on me to find rental agreements. They ignored specific incidents of incredibly loud music and people loudly congregating for hours. The police at first said it was only advisory by the way. They put responses at the bottom end of any business other than that. They are trying to pussy foot around the issue which should be addressed head-on. Simply contact the property owner and tell them there has been complaint and remind them that the property is not permitted for short term rental. This would do a great deal to discourage the rentals and would go a long way to keeping the behavior under control when the rentals do occur.

Two Victims Assaulted During Fight at Large Party

I think there were more than two victims, if the lead story is correct in that two were being treated in local medical facilities before deputies arrived, where they found another person with a head wound. Initial reports said there were at least five victims, but people scattered so it is hard to re-construct. One witness said he was advised 'don't talk to the cops,' which is typical in the gang world.
I think there is more here than meets the eye, but believe our Sheriffs will figure it out.
