Update by Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office

Deputies are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a liquor store in the 400-block of Avenue of the Flags tonight. Deputies responded to the 911 call at 5:51 p.m., established a perimeter and requested assistance from Sheriff’s K9 Units and County Air Support as they searched the area. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, was last seen wearing a black brimmed baseball hat, Columbia brand hooded sweatshirt and dark shorts, fled the area prior to deputies’ arrival and was last seen northbound on foot behind the business.

Residents were asked to shelter in place as K9 Units searched the area on ground with the Air Support Unit overhead. After an exhaustive search, deputies lifted the shelter in place. Robbery happened just before 6pm. Chopper(s) circled Btown. Made a lot of noise for a couple hours and then broke off and left. We got a shelter in place wireless message after 7pm and never got anything telling us it was lifted. What kind of system is that?
