Santa Maria Police Investigate Shooting

Update by Santa Maria Police Department

On 8-8-20 at approximately 7:23 PM, Santa Maria Police Department received calls of a shooting which had occurred in the area of La Salle Dr and Columbus. 

Upon arrival officers located evidence of a shooting but no victims were located at the time. Officers continued the investigation in the area and shortly after SMPD received a call of a shooting victim arriving at Marian Regional Medical Center.

The adult victim had been transported to MRMC by private vehicle after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was treated for injuries sustained and was in stable condition.

SMPD Detectives continue to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information to contact Detective Corral at (805) 928-3781 X2243 or call the tip line at (805) 928-3781 XCOPS (2677).

Santa Maria Police Investigate Shooting

Generally a bad sign when victim is transported POV and no one is left at the scene. Next part is no one knows nothing, no one saw nothing....finally, victim doesn't cooperate. Typical gang crap. Next, next part; somebody retaliates with another shooting. Pretty hard for cops to deal with.
