THE NEXT WAVE FOR ANACAPA SCHOOL: PRO SURFER SHAUN TOMSON RETURNS TO INSPIRE AND EMPOWER STUDENTS

By the Anacapa School

Anacapa School was delighted to welcome back renowned professional surfer Shaun Tomson last Thursday for an inspiring and motivating presentation. Tomson, celebrated for his achievements in the world of professional surfing, returned to his roots to share his passion for life and self-discovery through his empowering program, The Code Method.

During the presentation, Tomson took students on a journey of self-discovery and purpose, drawing from his own extraordinary experiences. The Anacapa community was honored to have him back, as he ignited the spark of purpose in the hearts and minds of the diverse audience including students, parents, teachers, and guests.

Tomson’s program, The Code Method, has made a global impact by empowering students to discover their own personal code—a set of principles and values to guide them through life. Through evidence-based interventions, students were provided with the tools to clarify their purpose, make positive decisions, and foster positive change.

Diego Villareal, a Spanish teacher at Anacapa School, expressed anticipation for Tomson’s presentation, to see how his message has changed over the years. Villareal stated, ‘I’m very excited for the students to get to hear from someone like Shaun Tomson.’

Head of School, Mari Talkin, commended Tomson’s dedication to improving the lives of young people, stating, “Shaun has an amazing life story, and his commitment to enhancing the lives of young individuals through purposeful reflection, action, and accountability is truly inspiring for both students and educators.”

The visit, which took place on Thursday, February 15th, was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the Anacapa community. Anacapa School extends its gratitude to Shaun Tomson for his inspiring message and looks forward to continuing to foster creativity, resilience, and a sense of purpose in its students.
