Good Sports Plus Ltd., doing business as ARC, an outdoor education and sports program provider based in Torrance, is laying off employees from multiple offices, according to a WARN notice to state authorities.

The layoffs will affect employees from several offices across Imperial County. A total of 82 employees are expected to be laid off, according to the notice.

Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, employers must provide a minimum of 60 days’ notice ahead of mass layoffs, major relocations, or plant closures in California. The notice gives workers and local agencies time to prepare, according to WARN.  

According to the filings, Good Sports Plus submitted the notice on April 2, 2026, and it was processed on April 3, 2026.

The layoffs are scheduled to take effect on June 4, 2026.

The employer is classified under the healthcare and social assistance sector in the WARN filings. 

The permanent layoffs will affect multiple offices in Brawley and El Centro, Imperial County. The largest impact will be at J.W. Oakley Elementary School and Myron D. Witter Elementary School in Brawley, with a total of 15 employees affected at both sites.

Myron D. Witter Elementary School, 150 K Street, Brawley: 15 employees

Padilla-Pace Middle School, 681 Vine Avenue, Brawley: 7 employees

Phil D. Swing Elementary School, 245 W A Street, Brawley: 13 employees

Brawley Union High School, 480 N. Imperial Avenue, Brawley: 6 employees

Desert Valley High School, 104 Magnolia Street, Brawley: 3 employees

Central Union High School, 1001 W. Brighton Avenue, El Centro: 3 employees

Phoenix Rising/Desert Oasis High School, 1302 S. 3rd Street, El Centro: 2 employees
